This was my first appointment with her but I think I'm definitely going to visit again. Gorgeous I just got back from seeing Erica and I have to say, she did a beautiful job. I went change my light brown hair to a darker winter look and she did just that. She died it and put some subtle highlights just like I wanted. I was a little nervous since I've never had foil highlights before, but my worries were unnecessary. She also re-layered my hair and somehow managed to make it look longer. How I'll never know. She must be some kind of miracle worker. Either way my hair looks shiny and bouncy with windblown look you normally only see in magazines. I chose to see her after reading all of these good reviews and I was not disappointed. Trust her. She knows what she is doing. Erica Gives a Cut Above....or From Above? I consider myself a qualified critic for the industry because I grew up in it. I'm 36 yrs old & my father is one of the #1 barbers and owner / operator of one of the most profitable salon / spas in Lubbock. He's been an owner operator for 45 yrs and has opened & managed other salons & colleges during that time. When I moved from home I knew I was ruined when it came to haircuts. Nothing would ever be as good. Thru the years I found some good ones & bad ones. All left me holding out until I could see my dad. I visited Catena's for the 1st time almost 2 yrs ago. On my 1st visit I examined and evaluated every detail of the studio. I can't help it...its just in my DNA. Every associate was friendly and professional with a sense of pride and ownership in their workplace. I was referred to Erica StClair by a mutual friend in the industry. I decided to give Erica a shot at earning my devotion and took a chance. Normally, I would have had a little anxiety when visiting a new stylist, but I trusted my friend's recommendation and Erica was certainly easy to warm up to. I felt very peaceful and had a semi-VIP experience. I thoroughly was impressed. Sometimes it takes a stylist a few visits to get to know the head and hair of a new client. It can even take a few tries to get the likes and most importantly the 'dislikes" down. But, Erica dove right in with confidence and I walked out with confidence. The compliments that followed sent me back to Erica many more times. A few months later I moved to a small town in East, TX. (about 3 hrs from Austin) I live on a lake out in the country. I'm about 40 miles from Tyler and about 75 miles from Dallas. I'm pretty sure I can find a stylist worthy in Dallas and possibly Tyler, but my experience tells me that I'll go through many disappointing candidates in the process. The way I see it....I found a jewel named Erica and a place in Austin that feels like home. 16 mnths later, I still drive 3 hours for the best. Erica is the sh... Erica has been cutting my hair for over a year now. At my first appointment, I told her that my hair was her project to do with whatever she wanted...Well, I've never been disappointed with anything she's done. I trust both her sense of style and abilities completely. The atmosphere is great and the best part about the whole thing is not only do I get a great haircut, I always look forward to seeing Erica. She's awesome and makes the entire experience something that I look forward to. Great Stylist i've gone to Erica for the past year and I've always been happy with my cuts and color. She is very friendly and professional and she is GREAT at what she does. I would recommend her to anyone, espeically if you want color. She's always given me the exact cut that I requested and always has ideas about what will look good on you. If you go to her, you'll love her and won't want to go anywhere else. That chick can cut hair!!! Man...best haircut ever. Total package...dye job looks great as well...did I say best haircut ever. She really knows her stuff. I will definately be back. She does a really thorough consultation before you start and she has the best recommendations if you're not sure what you want (or if you have specific concerns, like I do). She's also incredibly friendly and gives the best and most reasonably priced hair cut & style in all of Austin. She has a client for life in me Best of the best I had a horrible experience in the past with hair color and the last salon I visited dyed my hair from light brown to black. I went to Erica and she helped me strip out the old color and correct it to a color that I loved! Erica was extremely patient with me and the best thing about her service is that she will give you a free consultation before you start! I walked out happy with my hair color and my cut. I have been to lots of really nice salons in the past and I can honestly say that I have never had someone better than Erica work on my hair. I will definitely be going back to her for all my hair care needs! I highly suggest that you go to her she is truly the best of the best!! Erica is THE BEST!!! Erica St. Clair has changed our lives for the better! I know, that sounds really drastic, but it's true. Erica has been cutting my hair for the past year and a half, and I have always walked away incredibly happy with my hair as well as my total experience. Not only are her skills with the shears impressive, but she has the ability to understand exactly what I want as a fickle client and to suggest things that are appealing to me. During my last trip in there, my girlfriend (who is recently transplanted from Seattle) started chatting with Erica about how she's wanted to get bangs for the last year but was never comfortable enough to trust anyone to do them for fear of being a botched job of her overpriced stylist. Once Erica walked Sarah through what she suggested, Sarah felt good enough to sit down right then and there and enter a world of swooping bangs. She has never been so happy with a haircut (Erica didn't even charge her but I of course showed her our enthusiastic gratuity!), and has since been back in for a trim. I'm headed back in for my trim (I forgot to mention she is super-flexible with my work schedule and will schedule appointments when everyone else is gone at 6:30) and am happy to keep sending all my friends to this fun and engaging stylist. Thanks from San Diego! Erica I wanted to send a colossal THANK YOU from San Diego for the outstanding job you did with my hair. Your knowledge and professionalism is phenomenal! When I returned home from my brief stay in Austin, my friends and colleagues had nothing but great things to say about my new cut and style. to get to and everyone makes you feel welcome. Erica is a pleasure

for my May cut. "Erica St. Clair" Erica is the hairdresser you’ve always wanted, but were too lazy to seek out. Congratulations – you finally found her! Erica will listen to your needs, concerns, hopes, fears and all things concerning hair while attentively and expertly delivering exactly what you have wished for your entire life. Erica is young, bubbly and creative with a knack for the experimental, conservative or quirky. She has the unique ability to deliver what is desired by a client, but was previously unable to be described. I have been having my haircut and colored since the age of 16 – so that’s 11 years now and I’ve never had “a hairstylist.” Instead, I’ve always gone to the mall on a last minute whim. Catina’s and especially Erica have eased my fears of feeling confined to one place and having to stick to an appointment. They are very open ended with appointments, quaint, friendly and conveniently located. I LOVE Erica and I LOVE Catina’s Hair Studio. First Class Cut Erica cuts my hair and does a great job. The experience begins with Erica welcoming you into Catena's with an offer of coffee. We then discuss what I want for my cut and she makes it happen. I have not been this happy with my haircuts for a while. Even my wife is happy with my haircut. I continue to be impressed with the special attention I get. I hope others have a chance to stop by Catena's and meet Erica. Highly recommend the trip downtown! Erica is a REALLY good hair stylist - I trust her to do a fantastic
job on my hair and she always does. She's personable and listens
to what you want and even helps/shows you how to do it yourself.
Although I've never done it, I like that she also offers to do my
bangs in between cuts for free as well - it's a nice touch. Highly
recommend! Amazing Color! The best color job I have ever had was done by none other than Erica St. Clair. Being a stay at home mom the one thing I look forward to is getting my hair done. It is the great escape for me. Erica is great she makes the whole time enjoyable and relaxing. I get a couple of different color highlights every time, and since I have really thick hair man does it take some time. No sweat for her, she gets it done and still has time to cut and style it beautifully for me. Trust me this takes patients cause were talking at least 30 min of blow drying. But over all it is always a great experience. I walk away feeling revived, and my hair looks great. That is enough to make a girl smile. Erica is a Hair Goddess! I moved to Austin last year from Boston, Massachusetts, and was stressing over finding a new hair stylist. My reason for stress was justified: I have very thick, medium-length hair, that can easily go from straight to 70s Afro if layers are done wrong. I also dye my hair auburn, and as any bottle-red-head knows, it is really difficult to get this color right. As a result, I had stayed with the same stylist for over eight years, as he was the only one who hadn't send me home with puffy purple or orange hair. I came to Catena's for the first time as a walk-in, and Erica agreed to stay for the afternoon to give me a cut and color. I cannot say enough good things about Erica. Not only did she get the color PERFECT on the first try (which is almost impossible given my stubborn hair), but she suggested a slightly different cut for me, and despite my skepticism, it turned out to be the best cut I have ever had. I am still getting compliments from family, friends & co-workers. Catena's Hair Studio itself is incredibly layed back; like having a spa in your own living room. And Erica's sense of humor & down-to-earth-ness puts a smile on your face each time. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Catena's to anyone looking for a salon ~ especially you red-heads who want to avoid other parts of the color spectrum. ~ Melissa |
